Prime 2; Zürich
The Welti-Furrer site in Zurich West is part of a former industrial area that is currently being transformed into a modern urban quarter. At the centre of this area is the "Prime 2" commercial building on Pfingstweidstrasse. The combination of stone and large-format glass surfaces gives the building a powerful and metropolitan expression from the outside. The interior, on 7 floors with 3'000m2 each, has been flexibly designed for the tenants with bright and open spaces. Open-space offices can be realised just as easily as closed individual offices for concentrated work. The floor coverings were precisely coordinated with the overall building concept and thus double floors with different surfaces were installed. The challenge was to coordinate work from 3 different branches of Lenzlinger's business and hand it over to the client precisely, on time and with a love of detail."The exciting thing about this project was the diversity. Four different raised floor systems were used, so the advantages and flexibility of our raised floor portfolio could be fully utilised," says Daniel Haag, project manager at Lenzlinger Söhne AG.
Access floors with carpet
The main part of the area was covered with textile coverings. The advantage is that these have a very high load-bearing capacity, are absolutely cut-resistant and the basic fabric is such that this covering cannot disintegrate in the edge area due to the impact of chair castors.
Access floors with ceramic tiles
In the reception area and the stairways, ceramic tiles were used, which are easy to care for and maintain, but were perfectly integrated into the noble architecture. Everything was cast in one piece, yet with the option of floor sockets for easy access to the power supply.
Access floors with parquet
In the meeting rooms and the catering area, an oasis of well-being was created as the centrepiece under the atrium. This warmth could only be achieved with a construction of access floors in combination with a parquet surface.
GLAESER PROJEKT AG was responsible as general contractor for the tenant fit-out. "One of the challenges in implementing the tenant fit-out was the fine-tuning with the most diverse colours and materials, which was achieved with an elegance made to measure. The company Lenzlinger Söhne AG was our first choice to make the floor coverings appear to be of one piece with the interior, with a special value" says Anja Häusermann-Putignano, project manager and member of the management at GLAESER PROJEKT AG. Success needs space and the Prime 2 offers this in many facets - Lenzlinger Söhne AG has laid a decisive foundation stone for this in the floor coverings with this project!
